    How hard is it? I've never built anything like this.

    No experience needed. Every piece is pre-cut and numbered, and the illustrated manual walks you through it step by step, in order. Sort the pieces before you start, read the step before you glue it, and take it over a few evenings rather than one sitting. If a step goes wrong, nothing is unfixable.

    How long does it take to build?

    Most builders finish in 4–6 hours, depending on the kit and how fast you work. Most people spread it across two or three evenings, the build is meant to be enjoyed, not raced.

    It's designed to slot into the gap left by a few standard hardcovers, and sits flush with your spines. Measure the space before you order: shelf depth is the one that catches people out, more than width.

        This was so beautiful. What a wonderful experience. The cut outs are perfect and fit together extremely well. It comes with a file for the leaves that just need a little wiggling together. The glue was wonderful, and didn’t dry out. The tweezers were very helpful, and the directions were very clear. This is my first nook and took me 10 hours to complete (tea and food breaks) and I am immediately buying another. Cheaper than legos and incredibly beautiful and detailed. The lights were so easy to install. It uses 2 AAA batteries, so no expensive watch flat batteries.

        I have done other miniature projects before this particular book nook, this looked different to me, so I decided I wanted to try it. I am very pleased! The pieces were all there, with a few extra pieces left over. The instruction manual is very well written and super simple to follow! It has places of zoom in so you can really see how it should fit. It also shows before and after so you can double check yourself. This one is much prettier in person than the photos show! It’s a really neat addition to my bookshelf!! The lighting mechanics for it were really simple to follow as well, I didn’t need anyone to help me with that. Once you assemble the bottom and sides, it doesn’t shut completely until you add the top pieces, but I think that goes without saying. Once you add the top, it is extremely sturdy and fits snugly together. It comes with glue, tweezers, and all you need. My kit wasn’t missing anything. The only suggestion I would make is consider having an exacto knife handy as the clear plastic pieces (for the stairs) are in their casing a little more snug. It wasn’t as easy to punch out like the wooden pieces. But, I just used an exacto knife to cut the pieces out as needed. It is simple, it is fun, it is really pretty from start to finish! I highly recommend this product!!
